DASP – Loop’s Dance Artist Support Programme

There’s quite a lot to read here and some questions for your application you may want to consider before completing.

IF YOU ARE  A GRADUATE OR BEGINNING YOUR CAREER AS A DANCE ARTIST – GIVE YOUR FUTURE A DASP…

“IT ALLOWS YOU TO LEARN AND PRACTICE SKILLS, THAT YOU’LL CONTINUE TO CALL ON THROUGHOUT BOTH YOUR CAREER AND LIFE.

“I WISH THIS OPPORTUNITY HAD BEEN AVAILABLE WHEN I BEGAN MY CAREER.”

Nina D Atkinson – Founder & Artistic Director of LOOP Dance

DASP IS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FUTURE

For two days a week, during the three academic terms, you’ll be given opportunities that are useful, good practice and provide substantial experience for your CV.

We’re based at The Brook in Chatham, but our workshops and involvement with many parts of the community means we have a presence in locations across Kent.

DASP is a programme that provides graduates with the opportunity to create and tour work as a graduate company. As a DASP participant, you will be supported by Loop Dance Company members to create opportunities for you to choreograph pieces of work to perform.

You’ll not only get involved with these projects, but take on responsibilities for them. These include teaching groups of people, project organisation, management, finance and promotion skills which equip you with both the knowledge and experience that employers look for in job candidates.

Throughout, our commitment to wanting you to succeed means you’ll receive training, guidance, support in an environment that ensures you are a person, not a number.

We also hold DASP Intensives throughout the academic year which will be FREE for you to join. We open these courses up to all dance graduates at a small charge.  Please email your interest via looped@loopdancecompany.co.uk or Direct Message us. Also, see the home page for more details on the DASP Intensives.

WE KEEP IT SMALL SO THAT YOU CAN SHINE!

The programme is restricted to a small group of people each year for a specific reason – your future.  If successful in your application, you’ll be involved in many aspects of what we do and will become part of the LOOP Dance Company for the year.

We’re a small team that works together, supporting and encouraging each other throughout, working with other people throughout both the dance world and the community at large. This skill is the backbone of most success stories in business, education and in people’s own lives and we are proof that it really gives you a long-term DASP Course - by LOOP Dance Companyopportunity in life.

YOU’LL GAIN SKILLS AND HAVE THE CHANCE TO MAKE YOUR HEART SING

There are also a number of opportunities during the year to become part of  “LOOP Dance Collective” performances – allowing you to continue your passion for dance throughout.

To be associated with an established and recognised Contemporary Dance Company; founded over twenty years ago; that continues to evolve to meet the needs and challenges of life, whilst being able to honestly say “We do what makes our hearts sing!” – we hope remains a brilliant memory forever too.

WE’RE NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY, WE’RE DOING IT FOR A GREAT FUTURE FOR ALL

The cost of the course for one year is £1800 which is £60 per week over 30 weeks or three payments of £600 over the three terms. You also have the option to discuss a personalised payment plan with us which makes it even more affordable!

Especially when you think of the number of experiences you’ll not only have, but be able to talk about to employers or pass onto your students in their learnings.

You can pay it all up front for the year, or per term or each week. Each will be set up as a direct debit – but all successful candidates will be required to pay the full fee for the year by the end of the Summer term. It’s the only way we can keep the group small and commit our time to the programme – you will be asked to agree to this when you apply.

YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY, WE’LL INVITE YOU TO AN AUDITION IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL.
